Kites Flying in the sky on Kite Day. You'll want to keep your eyes on the skies this summer!

Whether you're six feet tall or six months old - a sky full of kites makes for a stunning visual and a lifelong memory, and Kite Day is returning to deliver the goods this summer.

This beloved annual event sees kites of all shapes, sizes and colours dance in the New Brighton sky, delighting the thousands that come to watch and take part.

Bring your own kite and be joined by some of the best kites and kite pilots in the South Island - and from around the world - in what is developing into a truly international event.

Kite Day is all about family fun. Bring your kite. Pack a picnic. Grab some fish and chips. Make sure you arrive early, or catch a bus to avoid the parking fuss altogether.

Finally, remember: summer's more fun when you're sun smart, so make sure you slip, slop, slap and wrap.

Kites will be available to buy on the day from The Kite Shop.
