Sparks returns in February with our beloved Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in an evening of romance-inspired music to get everybody in the mood for Valentine's Day.
Under the baton of Kenneth Young the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra will perform classics including Moon River, Blue Danube Waltz and the Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet with appearances by Amanda Atlas, Jennine Bailey and Mark Vanilau. This night is sure to delight and enchant, and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display to Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav.
Preshow entertainment will start at 6pm so head down early and grab a spot to prepare for a fun evening in Hagley Park.

There are a variety of buses that stop near the park, visit www.metroinfo.co.nz for bus routes and times.
On site car parking for $5 will be open from 4.30pm from Harper Ave, Carlton Mill end of North Hagley Park.
Wheelchair Accessible: Yes, but note that there is some uneven ground/grass.
Accessibility drop-off and pick-up point: a drop off area is available on the Armagh Street bridge for Mobility Parking Holder. Please note there is a walk to the front of stage accessibility seating area if you wish to use it.
Accessible Car Parking Areas:
- In the public car park access off Harper Ave there will be mobility parking. Please note there is a walk to the front of stage accessibility seating area if you wish to use it.
- For a limited number of Mobility Parking Holders cars we are pleased to offer for 2016 Sparks the ability to drive in, sit in your car, view of the big screen and listen to the concert on your car stereo. This must be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line Sparks Mobility Parking and will be done on a first in, first served basis. Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you information for the Sparks venue radio frequency to tune to in the week of the event.
Cycle stands: There will be cycle stands around the venue for those choosing to bike.
